Catholic Retreat 2006
May 19~21,2006
This was our 3-day 2-night retreat,we went to Nabangwui retreat House in Iksan.it is the place where the first korean Priest landed when he came back from Russia.
The retreat house is really good, very quiet and solemn, I went there in my car with my kids and my good friend Carina’s children, Carina was in another friend’s car, we arrived there past 8PM, i thought we got lost, the drive was long.more than an hour from Chonju city, when we arrived, we went to a restaurant right away to have dinner, we had "samkyopsal"courtesy of the church..i was a nice dinner. after that we went back to the retreat house,took some rest and we practiced dancing (jazz dancing that is)……then around 11 we went inside our room.supposedly,we should stay in 3 separate rooms,one for each family,but since there were only few of us, we decided to stay in only one room altogether and enjoyed the night, talking to each other, we slept around 3am….
the next morning(saturday,may 20) we had to get up at 8am. to have breakfast, still there were only few of us there, others would follow in the afternoon after work,….the kids enjoyed nature very much, my son caught a frog 
, the girls picked some flowers, our volunteers drove them around and they also went up the hill. we took a rest again in the room…..
in the afternoon of saturday, others came…..then we got our own room…..hindi na kami "hadlok" kasi medyo marami na kami unlike the night before when it was very very quiet. our first activity for the day started around 5pm
….it was a lot of fun but our second activity was even better….
our male companions were very very funny especially Kuya macoy and Kuya Reggie
…..the last activity of the night was the show about Abraham and his son Isaac, it was a great show but there was something bad about it…….
the doctor who acted as God accidentally stepped on a thumb tucks…..his feet bled. and then the person beside me said there was another thumb tucks on the stage floor so i went there and picked it up to help prevent another accident….
on our last day…we went to the hill 
where the first Korean Priest was laid to rest, we had the stations of the cross too, when we finished, 
we took a rest, and at 11am, we had our mass. our good singers Kuya Rovic and Ping were there too…..after lunch we had to prepare going home, i had to drive again…hmmm.it was a 45 minute drive all the way to chonju……i was tired but no choice ,and besides i want my kids to be comfortbale in my car.
our new experience i really good…….i would like to go back there someday and enjoy the quiet nature and meditate….thanks to our Parish priest father bernard and the organizers of the retreat….the leader of the social welfare group of chonju city who always sponsors the catholic activities….to the volunteers and to all who helped make our retreat a success, thank you very much,may God bless you always…..
